In which I make some clothes, expound on the virtues of the flat fell seam finish, and proclaim "you CAN sew your own clothes, and even wear them in public".
You look F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S !!!
Gorgeous, just gorgeous!!!!
Wow that's amazing! Great job. I just found your blog by typing in sewing on the blogger search. Keep sharing :)amy
It's spectacular! Congratulations!And you're a vision, too!
What a great coat!!!! Beautiful, and a lovely color, it looks great on you.
Great coat! I really love it with the scarf too.
Wow, all you guys are too kind! I do like the coat but I'm no model, that's for sure. You should see all the dorky pictures of me that I never let see the light of day. Ack! But don't worry, after so many years (i.e. more than 40) you get to accept how you look. :) Which doesn't mean I don't know when I do have to lose a few pounds. But this too shall happen.
Julia, what a beautiful coat! You did a wonderful job and the scarf is perfect. You look great!
Back view, back view!! It looks very nice Julia. Has it passed the 'cold weather' test yet?Heather
Thanks ML and Heather. No back view yet, but I'll try to post something some time. However, it looks like the front, except for the buttons!Heather, I haven't worn it outside yet so I don't know about the weather test. The reason I talked about losing 10 pounds was because I couldn't fit a sweater under it! And looking at the weather for the rest of the week, I am going to wear my "fur" coat so I'll have to report back later. But I will let you know.
Great looking coat! Really looks great on you!
Your coat looks gorgeous! What pattern did you use? I couldn not find your initial entry on this project. I am currently working on my first coat and am almost finished! Yours Looks beautiful! You can see mine at encue.blogspot.com Thanks!
Thanks also Linda and Nancy. The pattern is New Look 6518 and it's in the entry "winter coat prep work". I'll go have a look at your blog later!
