One was my first time ever doing a zipper much less doing linings at all and it turned out perfectly. Using this again for my second skirt with lining and zipper. Perfectly clear, you made it easy! Thank you!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18007802.post-71663141981215584762010-06-24T15:28:02.832-04:002010-06-24T15:28:02.832-04:00You are welcome, Massachusetts! You are welcome, Massachusetts!JuliaRhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10795348297295716491noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18007802.post-62590894971646808202010-06-24T14:54:06.411-04:002010-06-24T14:54:06.411-04:00Julia,

I thought it was just me. I could have done with reading this before I attempted to line my skirt - I've just realised that I did all the lining inside out! Oh well it's inside no-one will see. Thanks for sharing your work.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18007802.post-41167288960963267412008-07-15T10:00:00.000-04:002008-07-15T10:00:00.000-04:00Hey Anon, just happened to be at the computer when...Hey Anon, just happened to be at the computer when this came in. When I machine stitch the lining down, I stitch it from the outside and run down the line of stitching already there from when the zipper itself was put in. Sometimes I don't do that because of the fabric and then I hand sew the lining to the zipper tape. I'll be hand sewing on the skirt I am making now - the navy linen blend. On my next blog post, I will also show pix of the hand sewing on the floral linen skirt I just made. Hope this helps.JuliaRhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10795348297295716491noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18007802.post-57423921929834457112008-07-15T09:48:00.000-04:002008-07-15T09:48:00.000-04:00This is an old post, but I'm hoping someone or Jul...This is an old post, but I'm hoping someone or Julia will respond! I'm having trouble attaching the lining to the zipper tape. You say to machine stitch it. How do you do that without catching the outer layer of the garment as well? Do you have any photos or tips you could share for this? I can't seem to get the hang of it. Thanks!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18007802.post-40020735408971582202007-11-17T19:09:00.000-05:002007-11-17T19:09:00.000-05:00Becky, for some reason, I can usually get the zipp...Becky, for some reason, I can usually get the zippers to match. That's why I commented on this one - because it was so far off. I probably won't wear the skirt until Spring now (too cold!) so I won't know how it wears. But it's at the back so I won't see it anyway!JuliaRhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10795348297295716491noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-18007802.post-68892774358118736362007-11-16T09:41:00.000-05:002007-11-16T09:41:00.000-05:00Gotta love when you can't find zippers to match......Gotta love when you can't find zippers to match... happens to me quite often.Beckyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09913795373618902575noreply@blogger.com
